In word 2016 for Mac, the bold style for Adobe fonts (e.g. Adobe Garamond or Adobe Caslon) doesn't work, but the regular and italic versions work as intended. Note that this problem is also present in Mac word 2011, but I can fix it manually by removing the font cache ( /Users/yourname/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Preferences/Office 2011) and restarting the application. Word 2016 doesn't have an explicit font cache. Does anyone know a workaround?

I can find the UBF8. Folder, but there is no subfolder called 'FontCache'.

That's exactly the word I'm looking for: ' synthetic bold'! The bold style is applied, but not the actual Adobe Caslon Bold included in the font book.
