There is another method to stop Skype from starting automatically on your Mac. Click on Apple logo on the left corner of Mac → Click on System Preferences. Click on Users & Groups. Mac OS Skype for Business Server 2015 or Lync Server 2013 OSX 10.11 (El Capitan) or OSX Skype for Business on Mac now supports multiple emergency numbers when configured by your Fixed an issue where a user could not see screen sharing if two users tried to start sharing at the.

I have installed Office 365 for Business on one of my customers new Windows 10 Pro (1703) computers, and have un-ticked the 'Automatically start' options in Skype for Business, but it appears to completely ignore these settings, and continues to start every time Windows starts up. In March, I installed Office 365 for Business (same account) on two other computer for the same customer, and had no such issues (in fact, I don't believe Skype for Business was even installed as part of the download?). So I am at a loss as to why this is happening now. I have tried to find registry entries, startup items, GPO entries, task scheduler entries, etc. That could be continuing to make it start, but could not find anything (well, anything obvious to me!). I have also tried complete uninstall, reboot, re-install, but the problem remains. I have also disabled the add-ins in Outlook 2016, but again, this has not helped.

Good substitute for butter in mac and cheese. I have even tried it with another Windows profile on the same PC, but still the problem remains. My customer has no want, or need for Skype for Business (or Lync, or whatever Microsoft decided to call it on any given day!), and we simply want to be able to stop it from popping up every time they boot the PC. I've been trying to resolve this for two days now, and I'm at my wits end. If anyone has the answer, or suggestions, I'd be greatly appreciative. Hi Dave, If you just delete the registries of Skype for Business, it won’t other apps of Office 365 but Skype for Business itself.

As for installation of the Apps, it is mostly to be an installation package and not be feasible to customize (which app to install or not to install). Here I say mostly as Office 365 Business Premium users can choose to not install Skype for Business App/client. When it comes to “Skype for Business automatically starts”, my understanding is it might be related to the affected user’s PC side as it works well with the same account and client installed via the account. Anyway, since you have got it stopped starting, I suggest you troubleshooting the issue via the above aspects I suggested if someday you installed the Skype for Business client and the issue comes back. Regards, Alan.

When Microsoft released the Mac version of the Skype for Business 2015 client there was definitely much anticipation for the product. I’m sure there are others like myself run both the Windows version Skype for Business 2015 client and Mac Skype for Business 2015 client (on separate machines of course, and yes that means I have a Mac). One of the areas that I found myself looking for soon after the installation and getting signed on to the SFB Mac version was where the client logs would be located. Are they in the same location as the Lync 2011 Mac client version?

Are they located someplace different? To begin with unlike the Windows Lync or Skype client that we are all familiar with, logging for the Mac client was already enabled. So let’s go to the next thing and that is once you have the Mac client installed. Once the client is installed, go to Skype for Business and click on Preferences. The reason we are going here is find out the general tab information to see where the logs are going.

For under the preferences section is where you would navigate for the previous Lync 2011 Mac client. Figure 1 Once we go to preferences, you will need to select the General Icon.

Here you will see the option Collect and archive logs and the Collect Logs button. Once you click on the Collet Logs button this is where we will see the log file location and the zip drive folder of where the logs are stored. Figure 2 After we click on the Collect Logs option the downloads location appears highlighting the SFBMaclogs zip file seen in figure 3; The zip is created from the moment we press the Collect Logs button in figure 2. You can also see that each time you click on Collect logs a new zip file with updated logs will be created. Figure 3: SFB Mac log location In figure 4 we can expand the zip file and see logs that are located inside ready for us to begin troubleshooting. The SFBMAC.log file is the one you are going to be interested in, for that gives us details of client and server the communication.
