Known Issue Skype For Business For Mac

Hello, We recently switched from Lync 2011 to Skype for Business on the Mac. In general, it works correctly. We have noticed one odd problem with the conversation history that is recorded in Outlook (the messages sent to the Exchange account).

The time-stamp for the messages is off by either 2 hours or 6 hours. For example, a conversation I had at 2:13 pm is recorded in the Conversation history in Outlook as having occurred at 12:13 pm. This happens only in the Conversation History that is sent to Outlook/Exchange. The conversation history displayed in the Skype for Business client on the Mac shows the correct time. The Windows version of Skype for Business seems to be working properly, recording the correct time when the conversation is sent to Outlook/Exchange. Has anybody else seen this particular issue? Because this issue didn’t occur when you use outlook/SFB for Windows, it indicate there are no any issues about integration between Exchange and SFB server, we suggest you do the following steps for troubleshooting: • Make sure Mac’OS, Exchange server, SFB server has same time zone • Rebuild outlook/SFB profile on Mac • Update outlook/SFB for Mac to the latest • Update Mac’s OS to the latest If there are any questions or issues, please be free to let me know. If you have feedback for TechNet Subscriber Support, contact. This certainly seems to be a Skype for Business Mac issue. When I do test with our Demo User in our Office 365 environment, the conversation history contains the correct time in the message.

The conversation saved from the Mac side contains incorrect time values (off by 2 hours). To answer your questions: 1) We are using Office 365, so we don't have direct control over the Exchange and Skype for Business servers. We don't know what timezone they are in. All of the settings we know about in our Office 365 tenant are set to Central Time. We don't think this is the issue, because the Web and Windows Skype for Business work correctly with this same Office 365 tenant.

2) I don't think rebuilding the Outlook profile will have an impact. This happens on every Mac we check. It doesn't seem to be an Outlook problem. It seems to be an issue with the Skype for Business client, as the Lync client still works correctly. 3) We are using the latest Skype for Business and Mac Outlook clients.

Here is a screen capture of a conversation today. The first screen capture is the conversation history as shown in Skype For Business Mac client. The conversation started at 9:45 am local time, and ended at 10:09 am local time. When the conversation ended, the conversation was copied to Exchange. Here is the corresponding message that appeared in the Conversation History folder. Notice that the message was received at 10:11 am local time (which is correct) but that the entries appear with 7:45 am as the time (which is off by 2 hours). The message text is actually altered.

If I view the message source, it the incorrect time values appear in the message. Good programming text editor for mac. That means that incorrect data is being received from the Skype for Business client. As I stated earlier, this does work correctly on Windows. The Skype for Business Windows client does send conversation history with the correct times in it. This seems to be a Skype for Business Mac client problem. Thanks for looking into this.
