Imran, This is absolutely incorrect. BPOS does not provide external-facing LDAP servers to connect to via the Directory Services option in Outlook 2011 (or Entourage 2008 WSE for that matter). If it wasn't difficult, it wouldn't be fun, but why's it got to be this much fun. I am not sure if it still a question after so many years. Apologies if it has already been answered by anyone else. I am a newbie so please excuse. However I was also trying to find a solution for the same and what I did in my Mac OSx was that I added my exchange account in MAC's contact app by adding a account for the same but unchecked the mail option and selected all others like Contacts, notes, reminders & Calendars. Although in the Outlook 2011 app the search wont work the way it works in PC but using the above workaround you can search for contacts and their other details very well you just need to go to your contact app rather than the Outlook app and search your contact. To answer your question, the reason this is still an issue is that there is not 100% feature parity between the two products.
